I, <strong>Sven Haefliger<\/strong>, founder of <strong>Zapiano<sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/strong>, want to describe what it sounds like when you have truly internalized <a href=\"https:\/\/zapiano.com\/en\/scales\/\">scales<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-it-means-to-internalize-scales\">What it means to internalize scales<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When you have internalized scales, you no longer have to think about which notes belong to a key. Your fingers find them by themselves, and you are free to improvise. When I sit down at the piano and improvise spontaneously, I could really keep playing for hours and completely lose myself in these wonderful sounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-start-with-the-c-major-scale\">Start with the C major scale<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you&#8217;re just starting out, the best way to begin is with the <a href=\"https:\/\/zapiano.com\/en\/c-major-scale\/\">C major scale<\/a>. It uses no black keys and lays the foundation for all the other keys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-goal-playing-freely-whenever-you-like\">The goal: playing freely whenever you like<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That&#8217;s exactly what I wish for my students: that you can simply sit down at the piano and lose yourself in the music, whenever you want and whenever you feel like it. That&#8217;s the goal. And that&#8217;s how you sound when you&#8217;ve internalized scales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Learning to play the piano is a continuous process that engages all of your senses.
